Trials for the Flying Taxi in RAK and other parts of the UAE will start in May 2025. Falcon Aviation Services, based in Abu Dhabi, plans to introduce air taxi services on January 1, 2026. CEO Ramandeep Oberoi shared this exciting news recently.
In partnership with Archer Aviation, Falcon Aviation will build vertiports at key locations. These include Atlantis, The Palm in Dubai, and Marina Mall in Abu Dhabi. The Flying Taxi in RAK will use Archer’s Midnight aircraft. Passengers will enjoy a scenic 30-minute flight over water.
By mid-2026, the Flying Taxi in RAK will connect Ras Al Khaimah to Dubai and Abu Dhabi. This will make travel much faster and more convenient. For example, what now takes hours by car will take only 30 minutes by air. This will be a huge time-saver for both residents and tourists.
Trial Phase of flying taxi in RAK
The trials will begin in Al Ain. Here, the aircraft will be tested in extreme weather conditions. Afterward, the trials will move to Abu Dhabi for further testing. Ras Al Khaimah will benefit from the Flying Taxi, especially for popular destinations like the Wynn Resort project. The air taxis will also help tourists easily reach the emirate’s top resorts and attractions.
Although the fare for trips between Abu Dhabi and Dubai may be more than Dh1,000 at first, Falcon Aviation plans to lower the prices. They aim to make the fares competitive with regular taxis. For trips within Ras Al Khaimah, the fare could be around Dh300 per passenger.
Impact on Traffic and Travel
The Flying Taxi in RAK will also address the growing road congestion in the UAE. It’s expected to change the way people travel in the region.
